The AURAE collection is a series of mirrors I’ve designed and fabricated to beautifully blend aesthetic form, symbolic intention, and a captivating touch of colorful playfulness.
Each AURAE mirror is a sculptural piece of décor, showcasing an iconic silhouette. From its core, three-dimensional waves expand outward, creating a mesmerizing frame and a truly unique visual effect that is guaranteed to make a statement wherever you place it.

My initial inspiration was the ripples a drop creates on calm water. Over time, this visual idea evolved into the concept of representing the imaginary (or perhaps not) auras or expanding fields around objects, animals, and symbols. In my work, I also aim to express my natural irony, sarcasm, and a life attitude of not taking things too seriously—which is why, for example, in my world a moka pot, a banana, or even a cat can have an aura. Each mirror is in fact paired with a comics book style image that sets the tone of the specific piece.

These original mirrors will surely appeal to people who value unique, meaningful, and dynamic designs for their homes, or anyone looking for the perfectly quirky, unforgettable present.

Designed parametrically fully in Grasshopper, including the backing holding the mirror; some of the controllable parameters are frame offset (using Signed Distance Function), waves frequency, holes depth etc. Metal inserts are used to screw the backing onto the back of the frame.
The collection was created in different variations: 
AURAE original: features a bold frame
AURAE Light: a more balanced thickness of the frame that looks less “heavy” visually
AURAE Minimal: the waves are flat and the format is round for all the silhouettes
AURAE Parametric: the waves design is contoured, looking like the classic generative parametric slats style

• Features a real mirror (not acrylic) for crystal-clear reflections.
• Available in 3 versatile sizes: Small (S: approx. 25 × 25 cm), Medium (M: approx. 50 × 50 cm), and Large (L: approx. 75 × 75 cm).
• A wide variety of vibrant colors and filament types are available, including standard, translucent, dual-tone, metallic, glow-in-the-dark, fluorescent (UV-reactive), glitter, and galaxy blends.
• 3D printed by me in durable PETG, a material suitable for indoor, outdoor, and even bathroom use. PLA could be used as well but only for indoor use and with no direct sunlight. Mirrors are sourced locally in Barcelona.
• Hanging system: metal D-rings or serrated/sawtooth mounting brackets/hangers/hooks.
